So for this one, I had the good fortune of having someone that I not only already wanted to mail things to, but who also had the same item on her 101 list to be crossed off at the same time. Since I only get to see Jen about once a month, this seemed like the perfect exchange. Is it horribly corny? You bet. Am I OK with that? Yup.
Contained in the package: A few support trinket things from PAWS, a box of Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandykakes, one of my flasks filled with her alcohol of choice, my zippo, a cheesy Love Park paperweight, a couple of books, a mix CD, some assorted buttons that came from my backpack, a map of Philadelphia and it’s neighborhoods, a shirt from Yards brewery, and an unbelievably embarrassing class photo of me from 11th grade. Oh yeah, and a picture of the two of us from her last visit.
Yes, this will certainly get me made fun of, but the whole ordeal was really fun. Getting mail is one of the last vestiges of the long lost days of 10 years ago that I miss the most. Even more so than people being able to go an hour without needing to make a phone call.
So, onward and upward. I’m hoping to cross off a few more things in the coming weeks, but we’ll see how everything goes.
